I am a Greek performer and theatre-maker based in Glasgow, Scotland.
I have a Master of Arts in Theatre Studies from the University of Glasgow (Class of 2023), where I devised my first pieces inspired by Donna Haraway’s “Staying with the Trouble” and Jean-Francois Leotard’s writings, exploring notions of bodily memory, time, ritual and collective trauma; my university dissertation on Pina Bausch’s “Kontaktoff” and “Blaubart” discussed the ecological potential of Bausch’s work, manifest in the use of repetition, organic material onstage, symbolism and Bertolt Brecht’s Verfremdungseffekt (V-effect).
In my last univeristy year, I wrote a one-woman dance-theatre piece called MARIA, wanting to make work that incorporated my dance experience and love for women’s stories. The piece was performed as part of an exam in the James Arnott Theatre, Gilmorehill Campus, University of Glasgow in February 2023. In February 2024, a revised version of MARIA was performed in The Old Hairdresser’s, a bar and theatre in Glasgow’s city centre.
MARIA is now going to the Edinburgh Fringe 2025. DONATE to help her get there!
